Astrakhan State University Gets Ready to Become a University of the Future
Within the framework of the 1st International Research & Applied Conference on Application of Data Analysis Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, ASU held a round table discussion dedicated to the issues of applying digital technology in education.
The event was attended by deans and deputy deans of the university faculties, teachers, researchers who tackle AI issues, Aleksandr Lunev, the ASU scientific supervisor, and students. The discussion was moderated by Aleksandr Koshkarov, the Head of the Laboratory of Big Data & Digital Technologies.
The round table discussion started with sharing experience with foreign colleagues: Serge Miranda, a professor at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (France) expressed his vision of the problem during a videoconferencing session. The expert told the audience about the development of technologies in the modern digital world, touched upon some niceties of working with data and participated in a discussion of issues on digital processes importance for the modern economy.
Then there was a presentation of ideas of holding general lectures for students of different ASU majors about artificial intelligence, principles of neural network functioning and training and usage of these technologies in their specific area.
Finally, the participants discussed e-learning issues. The ASU students expressed their opinion and stressed that the ideas of blended learning (combination of online lectures and in-class practical work with teachers) may be an efficient and convenient format for certain subjects.
