Twelve HEIs Establish a Consortium at ASU

Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, was unanimously elected President of the Transport & Logistics Consortium of Caspian Higher Educational Institutions. Representatives of leading universities of the Southern Russia put their signatures in a respective document.

Having congratulated his colleagues, Konstantin Markelov said that the Consortium establishment was a historical event. It should be recalled that the project was initiated by Astrakhan State University: the idea was put forward at a meeting of the workgroup for preparing the Presidium of the RF State Council and was approved. The Consortium is supported at the regional and federal levels, including by Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation and the Secretary of the RF State Council, who also addressed the audience with a welcome letter.

The document that is a milestone of the Russian higher education was signed by representatives of 12 universities, including educational institutions of Astrakhan, Volgograd and Rostov regions, Republic of Dagestan, Republic of Kalmykiya and other flagship higher schools of the Southern Russia. Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, was unanimously elected President of the Consortium.

Together with the signing ceremony, a speech session on the Caspian logistic transformation issues was held. It involved staff members of the universities, heads of enterprises and public officials.

The presented reports reflected the focus on development of the transport and logistic sphere with regard to current requirements. Robotics and digitalization prospects, as well as the introduction of advanced scientific achievements dictate the need for cooperation with innovators and availability of well-trained experts in almost all areas.

The first meeting of the newborn consortium participants was held at the highest level, and there is a great deal of joint work and new fruitful events ahead.
