Students of Astrakhan State University Have a Chance to Participate in BayStudy Programme

The ASU Faculty of Agribusiness, Technologies & Veterinary Medicine hosted a lecture-presentation of Bayer company, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of Astrakhan region.

The event was attended by students of agricultural majors, as well as representatives of the ASU Biological Faculty, the regional Ministry of Agriculture and the Youth Agency.

The audience was welcomed by Andrey Kupriyanov, the regional representative of Bayer in Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, who told the participants about the company, its history of development, the modern strategy of activities and the latest research products and achievements in seed production and crop protection.

The guest expressed his desire for close cooperation between Astrakhan State University and Bayer company within a long-established programme “BayStudy”. This project is one of the top-priority initiatives in the corporation’s social activities. It is meant for supporting talented students and Ph.D. candidates who aim at professional growth, development and obtaining of practical skills and competences. The project goal is to raise the knowledge level of BA, MA and Ph.D. students of agricultural majors of Russia in the sphere of seed production and crop protection. BayStudy will improve the training of young qualified specialists for the Russian agribusiness. The lecture attendees got to know how to become a project participant and what documents must be prepared and submitted to enter the competition.

At the end of the lecture, Rinat Dubin, the Head of the Crop Production Department of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, addressed the audience as well. He wished the ASU students to participate in the project in a responsible manner and make progress in achieving their goals.
