Another Visit of Prof. Bruce Leimsidor to ASU
From May 15 to June 03 Prof. Bruce Leimsidor, our long-standing partner from Ca’Foscari University of Venice and one of the leading experts in the migration legislation of the EU and USA, is paying a visit to Astrakhan State University.
Bruce Leimsidor’s first visit to ASU was in 2012, and since then he holds annual expert meetings with representatives of different faculties and participates in round table discussions and panel sessions, organized within the framework of his visits.
On May 21, Bruce Leimsidor met with ASU Acting Rector Konstantin Markelov and shared some plans on his participation in the scientific forum «Caspian Region in the Digital Economy Era» which will be held on May 24-25 at Astrakhan State University and the International Institute of Law. The Professor’s report will focus on the influence of digital technologies on the international law and migration processes.
Konstantin Markelov suggested that the Professor joined the expert club on Caspian states’ issues which is planned to be established soon on the initiative of ASU. The guest supported the initiative and said it would be very useful. Being a migration specialist, he is mostly concerned about the problems of the Iranian migrants’ status and the correctness of the coverage of these issues in mass media, so, according to Bruce Leimsidor, a discussion on these issues could be very relevant in the future expert club.
At the end of the meeting, the Venetian Professor once again expressed his satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between the universities.
