Astrakhan State University Re-launches Its Financial Literacy Courses

Thanks to another won grant, the ASU Faculty of Pedagogics & Social Work is holding the advanced training course "Fundamentals of Financial Literacy & Methods of Its Teaching in the System of General and Secondary Education, as well as Financial Education for Rural Population".

The project is being implemented from June 14 to June 21. The course is attended by 50 teachers of the Kharabalinsky and Privolzhsky districts of Astrakhan region. It is delivered by ASU lecturers and financial literacy experts.

The programme aims at raising financial literacy of rural population and improving teachers’ competencies in teaching financial literacy in general education institutions. The course programme includes different lectures (both in-class and online), practical seminars, interactive classes and group tasks.

It should be noted that classes are held both at the university and outside — the lecturers go to the villages, get first-hand information about educational institutions and share their experience in the financial sphere. It allows to make the course more diverse and increase the level of rural teachers’ knowledge in financial literacy.

At the end of the programme, the participating schoolteachers of the Kharabalinsky and Privolzhsky districts will form groups, create their own projects and present them.

Upon completion of the course, the attendees will get certificates on advanced training.
