Konstantin Markelov: ASU Project Is Fully in Line with Turkmenistan President’s Proposals

An idea on creating the Caspian Research & Educational Centre, implemented at Astrakhan State University, complies with the strategic areas of the development of the Caspian states.

The ASU Acting Rector, as a member of the Astrakhan official delegation, in now taking part in the first Caspian Economic Forum in Turkmenistan and is holding business meetings with representatives of public authorities, academic and business communities.

“The President of Turkmenistan has put forward an idea to join together in the sphere of scientific research, development of new technologies, of the project “Digital Caspian Region”, of green technologies, environmental developments and protection of the Caspian unique bioresources. It’s fully in line with the ASU proposal on establishment of the Caspian Research & Educational Centre,” says Konstantin Markelov.

At the moment, the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, Turkmenistan, is hosting the official opening ceremony of the first Caspian Economic Forum. The Russian delegation consists of about 400 people, including 130 representatives of Astrakhan.
