Two Projects of ASU Won LUKOIL Grants
The official ceremony of awarding the winners of another LUKOIL competition of social and cultural projects in Astrakhan region took place on September, 7.
The grant programme has been implemented since 2005 thanks to the LUKOIL charitable foundation and LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft company.
The competition is aimed at supporting projects and initiatives of local communities in addressing current problems of territories. The competition involves participants from educational and cultural institutions, NPOs and social unions of Astrakhan region.
In 2019, the competition was traditionally held in 3 categories — Spirituality & Culture, Ecology and Sports.
Upon the results of the competition, Astrakhan State University won the grants for the projects “Astrakhan Garden” on recreation of fruit cultures that are historically traditional for the region (category “Ecology”) and “Cheerleading & Unbroken Spirit” on attracting children with special need, in particular with intellectual disability, who are students of orphan boarding schools, to specially organized cheerleading classes (category “Sports”).
