New Season of World Engineering Competitions Starts at Astrakhan State University
The competition participants of all ages have two days for mastering 3D modelling in Fusion 360, and the results of their final task will be remotely assessed by Autodesk experts.
The World Engineering Competitions (WEC Global Designathon) are a project, implemented by the New Technology Academy in cooperation with educational institutions of different countries, aimed at promotion of engineering disciplines among schoolchildren and students. During a series of tournaments, the participants, aged from 10 years old, will do intensive study courses in the format of project teamwork, which allows to form both professional skills of working with the software and skills of working in a team, assigning roles and taking the responsibility.
Astrakhan State University joined the WEC project last year — the university students took an active part in the competitions, and a 4th-year student of the ASU Faculty of Physics & Technology Andrey Teteryatnikov was the absolute winner of the Grand Final.
The first regional stage of WEC 2019/2020 has started today in Astrakhan at 5 venues: Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan State Technical University, Regional School Technopark, Kvantorium and recently opened Engineering School.
