ASU Welcomes Executive Director of History of Fatherland Foundation

On September 27, Astrakhan State University Rector Konstantin Markelov and Konstantin Mogilevsky discussed current historical projects and further cooperation.

Konstantin Markelov told the guest about some projects and plans on developing the Historical Faculty and prospects of ecotourism in Astrakhan. In particular, he mentioned some joint projects with Uzbekistan, Iran, India, France and other countries.

The ASU Rector stressed that the university maintains partnership with 80 universities worldwide and cooperates with them in different areas, including historical ones. Special attention was paid to the linguistic training as the most important element of international archeological projects, which is provided by ASU at the highest level, first of all thanks to the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation.

“For us, the cooperation with the Russian Historical Society & Foundation „History of Fatherland” is of great importance. We hope for fruitful work and are sure that historical projects, jointly implemented by universities, business partners and governmental agencies will be most successful”, noted Konstantin Markelov.

The parties presented memorable gifts to each other — Konstantin Markelov made a present of the book “Astrakhan in the Great War. 1914-1918” to the Foundation, while Konstantin Mogilevsky gave the ASU Rector the latest issue of the Foundation Bulletin. The guest also wished some materials about Astrakhan State University to appear in next issues of the Bulletin.
