Astrakhan State University Will Hold Model UN Debates in December

On November 6, ASU officially presented the First Caspian International Model United Nations. The ASU Law Faculty and the United Nations Association of Russia announced the start of the registration for participation in the project.

The event organizers — staff members and students of the Law Faculty — had prepared a short excursus to the history of the UN, spoke about the structure of the organization and explained how to become a UN delegate.

The 2019 Caspian Model United Nations is a dialogue platform in the format of a scientific conference, role play and debates, where each delegate will contribute to addressing global problems of modernity and learn more about the specificity of UN work.

ASU representatives have been participating in the Moscow International Model United Nations, which is held at MGIMO University and brings together more than 500 participants from around the globe, for five years. The students and alumni of our university shared their experience and impressions from the participation in the project. As they said, the event had been very interesting and outstanding. The programme of the project presentation included a symbolic opening ceremony of the first Caspian International Model and acquaintance with the experts that are actively developing the model.

Participation in the 2019 Caspian International Model United Nations is opened to university students and representatives of scientific institutions of Russia and other Caspian states. The working language is Russian. The event format implies on-site participation in the process of UN modelling — Model UN debates.

Astrakhan State University will hold the first event of the Caspian International Model United Nations on December 8-14 on the topic “Right for High-Quality Food Products and Non-GMO Life”. Find all the information on the timeframes, participation fee, submission requirements and selection procedure on the project website. The registration is open until November 20.
