ASU Welcomes Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow

Today, on November 8, the Rector of Astrakhan State University welcomed Luigina Peddi. The parties discussed prospects of joint cultural and research projects.

Konstantin Markelov told the guest about some plans on developing cooperation with four Italian universities that are partners of ASU in implementing student exchange programmes, about traineeships and practical courses for representatives of both countries. The Astrakhan State University Rector stressed that the cooperation framework covers projects in various areas and majors — culturology, transport and logistics, languages and interpreting/translation, biotechnology, political science and a lot more.

Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow Luigina Peddi commended a high level of training conference interpreters at ASU and stressed that Astrakhan State University is well known in Moscow because of its solid partner relations with Italian HEIs and active participation in grant programmes.

The formal meeting of the ASU Rector with the Director of Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow was followed by the official opening of the art reproduction exhibition and displaying of a film about Leonardo da Vinci at the event hall of the ASU main building. The occasion is timed to the 500th anniversary of the Renaissance genius’ death. It was Luigina Peddi who actually initiated organization of the exhibition of 14 canvas with Leonardo’s works in Astrakhan.
