ASU Swimming Pool Celebrates New Year

In December, Astrakhan State University held a swimming competition, timed to the New Year’s holidays. The participants were welcomed by Father Frost and Snow Maiden, representing the School of Sports, Physical Development & Healthy Lifestyle.

The entrants were to cope with six 25-metre legs of the relay. Each team, representing one faculty, consisted of 4 students — two ladies and two men — and two teachers or administrative staff members of the university. Festive atmosphere and cheerful mood of the participants resulted in an amazing show for the fans.

At long last, the team of the Faculty of Physical Training & Sports ranked first, having achieved the highest score. The united team of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ranked second, followed by the swimmers of the Faculty of Geology & Geography. The team of the Faculty of Psychology also was acknowledged for their activeness.

After the relay, Father Frost gave New Year’s sweet presents to all the participants of the competitions, and the top-prize winners received certificates. By tradition, the competition entrants made a group souvenir photo.
