ASU Meets New Partner from the Republic of Dagestan

On January 16, Astrakhan State University and Dagestan State Technical University signed a cooperation agreement.

According to the document, the parties agreed on implementation of joint educational programmes, training, re-training and advanced training of scientific and teaching staff, improvement of content and practical focus of engineering programmes, holding of fundamental and research works within joint projects and information and technology exchange.

It should be recalled that DSTU Rector a.i. Nurmagomed Surakatov visited Astrakhan State University within the framework of the strategic session “Caspian Scientific & Educational Centre — Growth Point of Economic Potential of Southern Russia”.

Having looked at the scientific and educational facilities of ASU, the head of the Makhachkala university outlined several specific areas for cooperation. In particular, the parties agreed on training students and young specialists of DSTU at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation in a special programme. New competencies will allow them to hold meetings with foreign delegations and implement volunteering initiatives at a higher level.

Nurmagomed Surakatov also expressed his interest in organization of work with prospective students at Astrakhan State University, including within preparatory courses. Prospects of cooperation with the Directorate for Preliminary Education & Students Admission were outlined. Besides, the DSTU Rector expressed his readiness to invite young scientists of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics & Engineering to hold master classes on robotic engineering and unmanned aerial vehicles.
