ASU Staff Member Is Awarded by Astrakhan Governor

On February 14, workers of Astrakhan mass media celebrated their professional holiday. Representatives of the regional journalism community were invited to a welcome reception at the Government House.

By tradition, Head of the region Igor Babushkin awarded the best workers of the regional mass media and press services.

“Mass media are surely the forth power of our society. Your importance and influence cannot be overstated. Your knowledge of the region and love for your small motherland are reflected in every report and publication,” noted Igor Babushkin.

The Governor handed a letter of gratitude to Olga Tikhonova, the Head of the Unit of University Media Content of the ASU Directorate of Information Policy. Olga graduated from the Faculty of Philology & Journalism in major “Journalism”. In 2018, Olga Tikhonova started working for Astrakhan State University as an editor of the Directorate of Information Policy, and in October 2019, the ASU administration appointed her to the position of head of the Unit of University Media Content.

The event was also attended by Dean of the ASU Faculty of Philology & Journalism Lyudmila Kasiyanova and Head of the Department of Theory & History of Journalism Galina Belolipskaya.
