Astrakhan State University Selects Miss International
Female students of ASU from different countries competed for the title of the most talented, artistic and beautiful student on the threshold of the International Women’s Day.
Ladies from Azerbaijan, Gabon, Italy, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Central African Republic appeared on the stage.
The contest consisted of three stages. In their “business card”, the students told the audience about themselves, their hobbies, their motherland, its history, traditions and holidays. Then the entrants demonstrated their various talents. The ladies sang and danced, treated home-made delicacies to the guests, and one of the students even presented a collection of clothes she’d designed herself. In the third round, the entrants took part in a quiz.
Visual appeal of the items, artwork, creative talents, quick wits and costumes of the students were assessed by the male jury, chaired by ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov.
The jury selected the winners in six categories. The Audience Choice Award was given to the student from the Gabonese Republic, the Colombian student was awarded the title “Miss Grace”, the Russian student won in the category “Miss Singularity”, the student from Kazakhstan was the best in the category “Miss Creativity”, while the Azerbaijan student received the title “Miss Style”.
Finally, the main prize of the competition and the title “Miss International 2020” were given to Francesca Peliccia, a student from Italy. She is studying at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, loves travelling and the Russian culture and goes in for choreography.
