ASU Student Joined the List of Professional Competition Medal Winners

Second-year student of the Faculty of Philology & Journalism Tatiana Shunkova won the bronze medal in the 3rd all-Russia student competition “I Am Professional” of the 2019/2020 academic year in the category “Bachelor’s degree”, the major “Journalism”.

The student already took part in the competition in the previous season but didn’t enter the list of awardees. So, the lady prepared thoroughly for this year’s competition, gained necessary experience and finally entered the top-3.

For the preliminary round, Tatiana Shunkova wrote an article on waste sorting, which is quite relevant for our region, and made a photo report from the fire-service equipment exhibition that took place on the Russia’s EMERCOM Civil Defense Day in Astrakhan.

At the final stage, the student was to write an article on one of the topics — divorces in Russia, popular videos on YouTube or forestry fund financing.

Now the student’s main goals are to be successful in her studies and complete her BA programme. She is sure that she will keep taking part in different competitions in future.

It should be recalled that the awardees of the competition “I Am Professional” get bonuses and extra scores for entering Master’s degree programmes of leading universities of Russia, for example of the Higher School of Economics.
