MIEF 2020: ASU Scientist Takes Part in Discussion on Engineering & Technical Education Development
April 29 saw a round-table discussion “Development of Network of Mirror Engineering Centres” within the business programme of the 2020 Moscow International Education Fair. The discussion was organized by the Centre of Excellence of the National Technology Initiative of SPbPU “New Production Technologies”.
The online discussion involved more than 700 representatives of the leading Russian universities. The colleagues discussed possibilities for development of the engineering and technical education in Russia through extension of the network of university mirror engineering centres. This concept implies transfer of competencies on the main areas of work of the SPbPU NTI Centre — digital design and modeling, digital twins, new materials, additive technology, smart manufacturing technology and hybrid production technology.
Head of the ASU Engineering Project Office Aleksey Titov presented a report on development of the ASU mirror engineering centre. The centre was established on January 15, 2020 and is focused on digital solutions in the sphere of innovative shipbuilding, particularly on development of unmanned maritime systems, amphibious equipment and hybrid power facilities for small vessels.
