Experts of Southern Russia’s Universities Discuss Current Issues of Transport Law
A videoconference strategic session on the Caspian transport system issues was held on May 28 within the roadmap of the Transport & Logistics Consortium of Caspian Higher Educational Institutions for 2020 and of the Boiling Point centres.
The online meeting involved representatives of the Consortium members, as well as regional authorities and organizations of the sector. The strategic session was initiated by Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov.
Astrakhan State University supported the need for emending the legislation in order to implement a single state policy in the sphere of road traffic safety.
“I think that the topic under consideration is really important particularly now, when transport companies have faced reduction in their income. Organizing transportation, from inter-city to international levels, has a great impact on the regional economies in Southern Russia and all across the country”, stressed President of the Consortium, ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov in his welcoming speech.
The strategic session participants considered some issues connected with motor freight transportation, in particular specificity of the legal framework and technical characteristics that influence freight-carrying capacity.
Summing up the results, the experts share one view that vehicular transport have undeniable advantages, that is why it is necessary to maintain and update the work of the transport and logistics system on a regular basis. These issues can be addressed only through consolidation of all the stakeholders.
