ASU Students Will Be Obliged to Wear Facemasks in New Academic Year
RF Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov held an online meeting with rectors of Russian HEIs on the issue of preparing educational institutions to the new academic year in conditions of the COVID-19 prevention. At the meeting, the minister presented several important innovations for universities for the upcoming academic year.
In the new academic year, wearing facemasks will be an obligatory basic rule for students and professors of higher educational institutions.
Taking the temperature at university will be another obligatory requirement for organization of the education process.
Besides, special devices for ongoing air disinfection will be installed in study rooms of universities.
The meeting participants particularly dwelled on organization of the study process for students from other cities and countries. Students from the countries with which Russia has re-launched air communication will have to stay under lockdown for 14 days upon their arrival in Russia and be tested for the COVID-19 on the 10-12th day after their arrival in the country. Only after this, they will be allowed to attend classes. Those students who can’t arrive in the country will get an access to online classes. Students from other cities who come from the «red» zones will also have to be tested for the COVID-19 in order to attend classes.
A question concerning the start of the new academic year was also touched upon at the meeting. The minister noted that the universities have the right to decide themselves whether they’ll start the educational process in September.
