Astrakhan State University Implements Grant Programme on Improving Financial Literacy

In June 20, the application on teaching financial literacy to rural teachers and organization of awareness activities with different Russian social groups by them, submitted by the ASU Faculty of Pedagogics & Social Work for participation in the competition selection, got financial support from the RF Ministry of Finances.

Classes are held in the Centre of Pedagogical Staff’s Continuing Education “Teacher of the Future» of the ASU Faculty of Pedagogics & Social Work. The additional professional programme “Fundamentals of Financial Literacy, Methods for Teaching It in the System of Basic and Secondary Education and Financial Awareness of Rural Population” involves 50 teachers from the Volodarsky, Enotaevsky, Ikryaninsky, Krasnoyarsky and Privolzhsky districts of Astrakhan region.

The programme includes the following modules: “Fundamentals of Financial Literacy. Specificity of Financial Relations in Rural Area”, “Methods for Teaching Financial Literacy and Doing Awareness Activities in the Sphere of Financial Literacy with Different Target Groups of Rural Population”, “Designing Rural Teacher’s Activities on Giving Educational and Awareness Classes in Financial Literacy with Different Groups of Rural Population”.

At the end of the study process, participants are to present their final qualifying papers.
