ASU Teachers Advance Their Distance Learning Competence

Astrakhan State University has completed an advanced training programme “Theory & Practice of E-learning and Distance Education Technologies”. 198 professors of the university successfully passed the final examination.

The course in advanced training programme “Theory & Practice of E-learning and Distance Education Technologies” was held for professors of our university in order to improve their skills of giving distance practical classes and lectures. The programme covered a wide range of issues, from elementary topics on a practical use of elements of the university’s Digital Learning platform and specific features of Moodle to more complicated issues of creating video courses and using a video editor for video processing and specific niceties of holding study games online, as well as professor’s “features” in motivating students for distance learning.

The programme was delivered by Associate Professor of the ASU Department of Information Technologies Oleg Evdoshenko, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Project Office Aleksandr Koshkarov, Head of the ASU Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation Uliana Savelieva and Head of the Communication Ethics Centre Irina Tarasova (Moscow). Each of them presented his/her own aspect of practical work in the e-learning environment, professional secrets and innovations.
