ASU Will Take Part in Marathon of Ideas “Third Mission of University”

Nine Boiling Point centres have united their efforts and are inviting representatives of HEIs, members of the general public, authorities, businesses and the expert community to take part in discussing the role of the “third mission» and presenting some practices of its implementation and assessment approaches.

The event will take place within the preparation for the forum “Strong Ideas for New Times” of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and subtrack “mplementation of Universities’ Third Mission”.

One of the objectives of the subtrack is to gather breakthrough ideas from regional communities and experts in broadening mechanisms of universities’ involvement into the process of Russian entities’ development.

Instruments of the “third mission” implementation:

• using universities’ infrastructure for holding regional and city events;
• involving universities into the urban environment;
• developing volunteering and social projects;
• cooperation with non-profit organizations on socially important issues;
• using intellectual activity results at enterprises;
• expert assessment for public authorities.

At the meeting, the experts will present some already formed practices of interaction with universities and new ideas and proposals on involving universities into intraregional processes. It will become a basis for systematization of approaches to implementation of universities “third mission” and dissemination of best practices.
