Samara Polytech Representatives Are Shown ASU Innovative Projects
Astrakhan State University has welcomed Rector of Samara State Technical University Dmitry Bykov and Vice-Rector for Innovative Activities Konstantin Saveliev. Konstantin Markelov and vice-rectors of ASU presented the educational and engineering potential of the university to the guests and outlined plans for further cooperation.
The administration of Astrakhan State University showed the guests the key structural units of the university. Director of the Institute of Physics & Mathematics Aleksey Rybakov told them about the CDIO-based engineering education and showed laboratories where all project work, from conception of an idea to its implementation, is carried out. Dmitry Bykov had a look at ASU students and staff members’ scientific developments: the head of Samara Polytech was showed an unmanned aerial vehicle system for water object monitoring, a robot for underwater metal cutting, a rescue robot with a computer vision system and KUKA robotic manipulator.
Dmitry Bykov got especially interested in a project on locomotor system examination which helps diagnose certain human diseases. He noted that Samara Polytech has its own developments in biomechanics and is open for sharing best practices.
The guests were also shown software for optimization of logistics and business processes and automated storage.
Having visited the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation, Dmitry Bykov paid attention to the up-to-date equipment of the study rooms, in particular the one for conference interpretation. He noted that Samara Polytech has purchased equipment for international conferences not so long ago and he would send his professors to Astrakhan to get and share experience in this sphere.
