Astrakhan State University Holds Student Festival of Sports Games

The competition is timed to the International Day of University Sport, established by UNESCO and the International University Sports Federation upon the initiative of the University Sports Union of Russia.

The festival was opened at three ASU venues simultaneously in order not to exceed the permitted number of participants.

Students of Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan State Medical University, Astrakhan State University of Architecture & Construction, Astrakhan State Technical University, Caspian Institute of Maritime & River Transport, Astrakhan Branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, College of Construction and Economy of the Astrakhan State University of Architecture & Construction and Faculty of Vocational Education of the Caspian Institute of Maritime & River Transport are competing in futsal, volleyball and streetball for three days. Besides, today, on October 2, there’ll be competitions in swimming and shooting.

Coach of the ASU School of Sports, Physical Development & Healthy Lifestyle Natalia Lisunova notes that, despite all problems of this year caused by the pandemic, Astrakhan State University decided not to ignore the tradition and hold the festival in compliance with all recommendations of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor).
