Astrakhan State University Strengthens Cooperation with Indian Universities
At a videoconference meeting, the administration of ASU and of partner universities of Gujarat, India, discussed some issues of scientific and educational cooperation and promising programmes of student and teaching staff mobility.
The meeting participants were welcomed by Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Russia Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Deputy Minister of Education of the Gujarat Government Anju Sharma and Deputy Head of the Astrakhan International Relations Agency Ilya Toropitsyn.
The ASU rector also marked out the warm and friendly relations between Astrakhan region and Gujarat. ASU delegations, headed by Konstantin Markelov, have taken part in economic forums and in international investment forum “Vibrant Gujarat” several times.
The heads of Gujarat universities shared some projects of Indian scientists in agriculture, livestock breeding, chemistry, robotic engineering and ecology with ASU researchers who, in their turn, told the Indian colleagues about innovative projects, implemented in the Astrakhan university.
Konstantin Markelov drew attention to the fact that Astrakhan State University and the partner universities of Gujarat have a lot of things in common and similar scientific interests and urged to keep conducting joint activities in these areas.
