CITS Students and Rospantent Keep Implementing Joint Project

An online meeting between MA students and professors of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation and representatives of Rospatent (Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property) took place last week.

During the session, CITS students were told about the specific features of the organization’s work: the Federal Service for Intellectual Property controls and supervises the protection and use of intellectual property objects, patents, and trademarks; besides, Rospatent represents Russia’s interests in the World Intellectual Property Organization, which is another close partner of CITS.

It is not for the first time CITS works with Rospatent. Last year, our MA students already did good job on some sections of the Cooperative Patent Classification and even had a traineeship in the organization.

As a result of the meeting, our MA students Yulia Goverdovskaya and Alexandra Dyulyukova were suggested they should write master’s theses on two projects of Rospatent. The first project is about working with Madrid Goods & Services Manager. The second project is dedicated to work in foreign patenting. Details of the project will be discussed in the nearest future.

It should be recalled that the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation cooperates closely with many international and Russian organizations. The number of partner programmes is really impressive — just a few educational institutions which deal in interpreters’ training have such a considerable list of projects. Through joint projects, MA students get unique opportunities to test their skills in various fields, with their work bringing practical value.
