Astrakhan State University Opens Competence Development Centre

The unit is aimed at developing professional knowledge, skills and competences of the heads of university’s structural units, at forming a managerial HR pool, professional advancement of scientists and teaching staff. More than 300 staff members of ASU are going to do study courses of the centre in 2021.

Personal development workshops, seminars, advanced training programmes — that’s what the new structural unit, which is part of the Department of Continuing Education, is going to work on. Along with educational programmes, the Competence Development Centre will take the lead in the transfer of educational solutions, developed over the last years during the implementation of additional professional programmes.

The centre will start with large-scale examination of the current state of HR needs in university’s units and development of competence maps for positions of heads of research and engineering projects and laboratories, as well as other scientific and educational units of ASU.

The Competence Development Centre is also going to hold events, aimed at promoting educational services on advanced training of heads and staff members of other organizations and enterprises of the regional real economy.
