ASU Is Actively Engaged in Collaborative Work with Caspian Universities

Today, representatives of the university have participated in an online meeting of the Association of State Universities and Research Centres of Caspian Region Countries. The event programme included a report by Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov.

At the meeting, chiefs of the Association member universities reported on the work carried out throughout the year and shared their experience of conducting international activities remotely. Despite the impossibility to hold on-site meetings, the colleagues keep cooperating and fulfilling all the tasks set during the 22nd General Assembly.

Academic mobility and double-degree programmes, organization of webinars with foreign scientists, joint publications in scientific journals, online meetings — all these events, among the others, have gained popularity in this lockdown year, the rectors say.

ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov also summed up interim results of Association’s activities, in particular the ones of the Commission for Science, Research and Technology, coordinated by Astrakhan State University.

The rector invited representatives of all the countries to take part in the upcoming events within the Commission’s activities, in particular in a startup festival, which will be held by the Youth Scientific Project Office, in Eurobot 2021 — the Russian robotic championship, and in the second meeting of the Commission which is going to be held in February 2021.

Konstantin Markelov also told the participants about the plans to create eight specialized sub-commissions on the basis of the Commission for Science, Research and Technology.

Detailed reports on activities of all the commissions will be presented at another General Assembly of Association of State Universities of Caspian Region Countries which is going to be held in May 2021.
