Astrakhan State University Strengthens Ties with Caspian Neighbour

On November 25, the ASU Center of Pedagogical Staff’s Continuing Education “Teacher of the Future” and Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly hold an online lecture, timed to the 25th anniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan.

The event, involving a delegation of the Turkmenistan Consulate, was organized for the purposes of development of Astrakhan State University’s bilateral cooperation with foreign partners. The lecture was attended by students of the ASU Law Faculty, Historical Faculty and Faculty of Social Communications.

Welcoming the audience, Rector Konstantin Markelov noted that the neutrality of Turkmenistan proved itself to be an efficient mechanism of building fruitful cooperation and strengthening truly friendly and good neighbouring relations between the countries and their peoples.

Consul of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation Guych Garaev expressed his gratitude to ASU for the initiative to hold this meeting and for their support of cooperation between universities and students of the two countries.

On the same day, the management of Astrakhan State University held a working meeting with Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan Guych Garaev and Vice-Consul Nurymurat Rozydzhumaev. The meeting participants outlined further steps in developing the cooperation between ASU and Turkmenistan.

In particular, Rector Konstantin Markelov suggested that Turkmenistan students took an active part in the World Engineering Competitions, held by the New Technology Academy together with educational institutions of different countries and aimed at promoting engineering subjects among schoolchildren and students.
