On November 30, the Faculty of Philology & Journalism of Astrakhan State University organized another event within the implementation of project “Intellectual and Creative Contests as a Basis to Form Stable Interest to Study Russian among Non-Native Speakers”, supported by the RF Ministry of Enlightenment.

The Russian poem recitation competition was held online. Students of the Urgench State University (Urgench, Uzbekistan) recited poems of Aleksandr Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Nikolay Nekrasov, Sergey Esenin, Anna Akhmatova, Marina Tsvetaeva, Konstantin Simonov, Evgeny Evtushenko and other well-known Russian poets.

The competition jury, consisting of representatives of the ASU Faculty of Philology & Journalism, commended the excellent knowledge of the poems, a high level of the Russian language proficiency and students’ aspiration for expressing their emotions.

Results of the competition will be summed up in late December 2020. Each participant will receive an e-certificate, and the winner will be awarded respective certificates and valuable gifts.
