Working Group for Renewable Energy Sector Development Will Be Created at ASU

Astrakhan State University has hosted round table “Innovative Solutions in Irrigation and Application of Renewable Energy in Irrigation”. The event, supported by our university, was organized by EUROSOLAR Russia Partnership under the aegis of the Year of Germany in Russia.

The meeting involved the administration and scientists of ASU, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Industry and Natural Resources of Astrakhan region, as well as of large German alternative energy companies.

The round table mainly aimed at strengthening the Russian-German bilateral relations with Astrakhan region. The German experts shared their experience in using clean-energy systems that are applied in irrigation and agriculture. The scientists of Astrakhan State University told their foreign colleagues about the university’s potential in creating promising projects for the agro-industrial complex, development of digital solutions in this sphere, including introduction of robotic technologies and artificial intelligence.

Upon results of the round table, a decision was made to create a working group that will allow to unite the efforts of ASU and German enterprises for developing joint innovative solutions and coordination between the university and businesses.
