Konstantin Markelov Is Awarded with Badge of Honour “For Development of Parliamentarism and Civil Society”
The official awarding ceremony has been held in the Astrakhan Regional Duma on the threshold of the Constitution Day.
The Badge of Honour “For Development of Parliamentarism and Civil Society” was established by the Astrakhan Regional Duma and symbolizes acknowledgment of citizens’ personal merits in building parliamentarism, social activities and participation in rule-making.
This year, 12 people have been awarded with the badge of honour.
During the ceremony, Chairman of the Astrakhan Regional Duma Igor Martynov congratulated the audience with the public holiday and stressed that the awardees made a significant contribution to the development of civil society, parliamentary work, implementation and support of socially important initiatives.
Astrakhan State University has been successfully running the School of Parliamentary Journalism, a joint project of the Faculty of Philology & Journalism and the Regional Duma, for seven years. Its participants study the specificity of work of the legislative branch in Russia.
