ASU Joins Campaign “Scientists Make for Schools”
The event, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Russian Union of Rectors under support of NAUKA 0+ project, is timed to the Year of Science and Technologies. Representatives of Astrakhan State University also supported the educational lecture course.
On February 12, more than 200 scientists — from young researchers to members of the Russian Academy of Sciences — gave classes in secondary general-education institutions. Schools of Astrakhan region were also visited by university professors.
For example, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor and Head of the ASU Department of Modern Russian Language Maria Lapteva delivered lecture “Mechanisms of Text Meaning Production” for senior schoolchildren of the Tatarobaskmakovka school. Using understandable terms, the scientist told the audience how to find meaning producing links in the text, mark out notional nodes, understand and interpret the author’s idea.
On February 8, students, Ph.D. candidates and young scientists of Astrakhan State University also joined flashmob «Back to Science» of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
