ASU Welcomes Delegation of the Consulate-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Today, on March 1, Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan Mehdi Akuchekian has visited Astrakhan State University. The delegation also included Vice Consuls Behruz Mokhtari and Ali Akbar Barui. The distinguished guests were shown the university and got acquainted with the ASU facilities.
The foreign delegation visited the most significant units of the university, including the laboratories of the Institute of Physics & Mathematics, Shared-Use Center for Creating Multimedia Content with elements of virtual reality, Center of Pedagogical Staff’s Continuing Education “Teacher of the Future”, Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation and the swimming pool.
The guests were presented the latest robotic developments of ASU students. They had a look at mobile robots, underwater and flying vehicles, and manipulators. The representatives of the Consulate-General also learned how the university studies human biomechanics, diagnoses diseases of the musculoskeletal system and creates large-scale plans for training athletes.
Director of the Institute of Physics & Mathematics Aleksey Rybakov marked out the main areas of research activities of the institute — these are alternative energy, mathematical modeling, magnetic materials, robotics and bioinformatics.
After that, the Iranian delegation met with the management of Astrakhan State University at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation.
