ASU Is Going to Open Russian Studies and Russian Language Center in Iran

Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov presented this proposal at the meeting with Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan Mehdi Akuchekian.

Konstantin Markelov reminded the audience that this year will mark 20 years since the beginning of the cooperation between Astrakhan State University and Iran.

The rector also dwelled on important milestones and areas of the partnership between Astrakhan State University and the Iranian scientific and educational community.

The support from the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan undoubtedly plays an important role in strengthening cooperation. The rector of ASU expressed his hope for further efficient relations, and invited Mr. Mehdi Akuchekian to give lectures for the university students.

In his turn, the distinguished guest conveyed the opinion of Iranian students studying at Astrakhan State University about the high quality of the educational services, to Konstantin Markelov.

Konstantin Markelov made a proposal to establish a center for Russian studies and the Russian language at one of the Iranian universities. Astrakhan State University is ready to bear part of the costs for its organization and send teachers from ASU to Iran.
