RAS President Aleksandr Sergeev Confirms His Participation in Forum “Caspian Region 2021: Sustainable Development Trajectories”

The Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences has hosted a working meeting between President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Aleksandr Sergeev and Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov.

The president of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the ASU rector discussed the issues of interaction between the Consortium of Educational Institutions of Higher Education & Scientific Organizations of Astrakhan Region and the Russian Academy of Sciences. Aleksandr Sergeev expressed his strong stand in supporting the development of science in Astrakhan region as a geostrategic area and noted the importance of the participation of businesses, interested in tangible results of research in different areas — engineering technologies, environmental projects, flora and fauna studies, etc.

The RAS interests include issues and problematic aspects of the Caspian region’s development, cooperation and collaboration of all research and educational institutions of the Caspian region. Therefore, the conversation will continue in May at the international scientific forum “Caspian Region 2021: Sustainable Development Trajectories”, where Aleksandr Sergeev will be one of the key experts. The president of the Russian Academy of Sciences accepted the invitation of Governor of Astrakhan region and Chair of the forum organizing committee Igor Babushkin and confirmed his participation in the scientific event.
