ASU Mourns for Kazan Victims

The staff members and students express their condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones due to the horrific events. Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov has already published words of support on his Instagram account and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The administration of the university pays special attention to the safety of one’s staying at an educational institution.

“Yesterday morning, even before the sad events, I held a meeting with the structural units to improve the safety of staying at the university. Everyone who is negative and skeptical about measures for strengthening the access control and strict observance of the regime in the university premises are mistaken,” said Konstantin Markelov.

The ASU rector emphasized that the terrorist attack in Kazan confirms that a crime with dire consequences can occur in an unexpected place, even at an educational institution.

“I sincerely empathize with the grief of Kazan citizens and express my condolences on behalf of the whole university. I wish all the injured a speedy recovery,” commented Konstantin Markelov.
