Astrakhan State University Hosts Meeting of Council of Rectors of Southern Russia

Today, the heads of universities of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District have gathered at Astrakhan State University within the framework of forum “Caspian Region 2021: Sustainable Development Trajectories”. The colleagues discussed the issues of scientific and educational cooperation in the interests of addressing the strategic issues of the development of territories and the whole country.

The meeting was held at the ASU Boiling Point Centre and chaired by President of the Southern Federal University, Head of the Council of Rectors of Southern Russia Marina Borovskaya, who noted that scientific collaboration will allow universities to support and strengthen research, educational and innovative positions.

The rector of Astrakhan State University spoke on behalf of the Consortium of Educational Institutions of Higher Education and Scientific Organizations of Astrakhan Region, announcing that the consolidated position is expressed in the intention to use forum “Caspian Region 2021: Sustainable Development Trajectories” to implement cooperation plans.

Colleagues discussed the role of universities in the implementation of the Priority 2030 programme, issues of network interaction of universities in Southern Russia, current areas of activities of the Russian Union of Youth, the use of modern technological solutions in higher educational institutions, the best practices of youth science, sociological support of educational activities of universities, academic mobility of professors and digitalization of management of individual educational trajectories in universities.
