Room of Confession: ASU Students Learn about Problems of Drug Addicts

Students of Astrakhan State University haveparticipated in discussion platform “To Know to Protect Oneself”, organized with the assistance of Ekaterina Zubanova, an officer of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Astrakhan Region.

The activities were timed to the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, celebrated on June, 26.

Chair of the ASU United Council of Students Diana Raskurina and Chair of the ASU Student Psychological Service Aleksandra Shcherbinina told the audience about the occasion celebrated, provided statistics for Astrakhan Region and shared information about where to go if bad things happen. In addition, the students presented project “Room of Confession: the Story of an Addicted Soul”.

In her turn, senior criminal investigatorof major cases of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Astrakhan Region, Lieutenant-Colonel Ekaterina Zubanova told the meeting participants about the danger posed not only by narcotic substances, but also psychotropic drugs, as well as alcoholic and tobacco products. In addition, the officer warned the students about the responsibility entailed by drug trafficking actions, and explained how to secure themselves from such situations.
