Graduates of ASU Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation Receive Their Diplomas
The rector of the university, representatives of consulates and foreign partners of CITS congratulated young translators and interpreters on their completion of the MA programme. Each of the newly fledged Masters of Linguistics already has a sound portfolio.
“Today, the T & I profession is increasingly acquiring new formats, because the ability to combine digital technologies and highly qualified linguistic training can be called the biggest need of the hour. This is how teaching activities are conducted at the ASU Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation, and therefore its graduates are in demand both in Russia and abroad at all times. I am sincerely convinced that CITS is one of the best linguistic education projects of Russia,” emphasized Rector Konstantin Markelov, addressing the graduates.
Warm parting words to the young interpreters and translators were also addressed by interpreter of the Latvian booth of the Directorate-General for Interpretation of the European Commission Rita Nikolajeva, Deputy Head of the Astrakhan Regional Agency for International Relations Ilya Toropitsin, Head of the Support Section of PCT Translation Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization Geoffrey Westgate, Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Astrakhan Mehdi Akuchekian and Senior Vice-President for the Caspian Region at Eurasia Management LLC Aleksandr Zhilkin. The ex-governor of Astrakhan Region noted the importance of establishing the multilingual school in the Caspian region and expressed his hope that the young professionals will easily find decent work, where they can fulfil their potential in full.
Introducing each of the graduates, CITS Director Ulyana Savelieva and Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Nadezhda Emelianova spoke about the students’ progress made during their studies. In their turn, the graduates expressed their sincere gratitude to the professors and consultants.
