New Academic Year Will Begin at ASU Offline
A videoconference meeting of the Russian Union of Rectors took place the day before, involving the administration of Astrakhan State University. The participants discussed the issues of the vaccination campaign, the format of training in universities and the celebration of the Day of Knowledge under conditions of the ongoing pandemic.
Viktor Sadovnichy, President of the Russian Union of Rectors and Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, drew the attention of his colleagues to continuous work on ensuring all epidemic prevention measures and creating herd immunity through the explanation on the need for vaccination.
Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov noted that along with the intramural studies, universities should also provide distance learning for those foreign students who will not be able to arrive at universities by the beginning of the academic year.
In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the educational process at Astrakhan State University starts “offline” on September, 1 with the compliance of all sanitary safety measures and the possibility of using remote technologies.
Wearing facemasks and taking the temperature at the entrance to the buildings keep being obligatory. Dispensers with antiseptics and air recirculators are installed in the halls and other public places. Taking into account the epidemiological situation in the region and the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor, the university administration strongly recommends that the persons who have reached the age of 18 and have no contraindications get vaccinated.
