ASU Enters Priority 2030 Programme

Astrakhan State University has joined the the list of the most promising higher educational institutions of the country upon results of the presentation of the university’s development project for 10 years to the competition commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

106 universities from 49 cities of Russia were selected for the Priority 2030 programme. More than 60% of the winners are regional universities. Only 10 universities of the Southern Federal District entered the programme, including ASU.

The ASU development programme is based on the concept of Region-Shaping University, a model of territorial leadership that has a special impact on regional development, concentrates the resource potential on the scientific frontier, proposing new solutions to the issues of spatial, HR, social and technological development to ensure the socioeconomic growth of the region; it is focused on creation of new points of growth — technological sectors of the region-shaping clusters, ensuring the security of the geostrategic bordering area.

Institutional transformation of the university will be carried out to ensure successful implementation of the development programme. It will cover, among other things, the university’s educational activities.
