CITS Keeps Cooperating with Rospatent

The key principle of teaching at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (CITS) of Astrakhan State University is a practice-oriented approach. This also applies to MA projects — theses of each graduate are not just theoretical papers, but a real contribution to the development of the industry and the international and Russian translation and interpretation communities.

CITS Director Uliana Saveleva has held a working meeting with representatives of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent). The partners discussed the issues of the International Classification of Goods and Services (NCL), with the terms of which CITS students will work within the framework of their MA theses under the guidance of Dean of the ASU Faculty of Foreign Languages Nadezhda Emelianova and Head of the Department of English Philology Elena Ilova.

Rospatent experts Evgenia Oleynikova and Larisa Boroday highly appreciated the results of previous projects of CITS MA students and expressed their hope for fruitful cooperation.

The terms to be translated by the students were pre-approved by NCL and the World Intellectual Property Organization as important for elaboration and selection of their official equivalents in Russian.
