ASU Journalism Students Master Technologies of Domestic Tourism Development
The Maykop Travel media forum took place at the Maykop State Technological University. About one hundred students from the Southern Federal District, North Caucasus Federal District, Tatarstan, Vladimir and Arkhangelsk regions, Saint Petersburg and Moscow took part in the forum. Among them, there were students from Astrakhan State University.
Third-year students of the ASU Faculty of Philology & Journalism Saida Aminova and Elizaveta Bubnova attended the event.
The forum organizers offered various educational platforms to the participants — networking, lectures, presentations, workshops and meetings with experts. Experts in tourism, media and SMM marketing showed young people how to write about travel.
Director-General of the Agency for Development and Promotion of Social and Commercial Projects in Tourism, Gastronomy & Urban Environment “Gorod-Park” Aleksey Matveenko told the audience about travel blogs and gave some advice on the genres that are better to use for telling about travels. He explained how to learn to promote material in the blog after a trip.
Elizaveta Loseva, a journalist, scriptwriter, the author of a book that was received the Russian Detective laureate national book award, also spoke at the forum. She shared her secret of how to transform general notes or a small blog into a book. She payed attention to the process of creation and commented on the points of how to present your work so that it is published.
Head of the Regional Management Center Kazbek Kodzheshau commented on the significance of analysis of the target audience, the ways of giving information depending on the platform, self-presentation strategies, work with feedback and many other things. He concentrated on the positioning of a personal brand and its organization in social networks and media.
To consolidate their knowledge, the participants were proposed to create media products and to promote them. For example, Aleksey Matveenko gave a task on working out an author guide for an independent tourist. The aim was to find interesting sites in Maykop that can be shared with others. Saida Aminova decided to take the topic “Five cultural sites worth visiting”. Together with her team, she took photos and created a map using Yandex services. At the end of the day, the project was defended. As a result, the Cultural Heritage team, where Saida was the captain, ranked first.
