Representatives of ASU College Help Students Find Their Way While Choosing a Major
Heads of ASU College departments Galina Nasedkina, Pasel Omar and Deputy Director for Production Activities Elena Chursinova, together with the staff of the ASU Recruiting and Admission Department Unit, conducted career guidance work with students of Open Comprehensive School No. 3 of Astrakhan, Lyceum No 3 and Secondary Comprehensive School No. 48.
As part of the events, schoolchildren got information about the college, passed a questionnaire and received consultations. All questions concerning the educational process were answered in detail by Deputy Director of the college Elena Chursinova. She provided information about the mode of educational activities, the scholarship payment, participation of the college in competitive events, the demand for graduates and the opportunity to continue studies at university. The students received answers to questions about the rules of admission and enrollment, last year’s passing scores for various majors, and job prospects.
Schoolchildren teachers were provided with a handout with information about majors, the number of state-funded places and the list of documents required for admission to the ASU College.
The speakers paid special attention to two new majors that are being implemented this academic year. Head of the Electrical Engineering Department Passel Omar spoke about the area and objects of professional activity of the major Welding Production. Galina Nasedkina, Head of the Department of Economics, Law & Service Technologies, told the schoolchildren about another new major — Technology of Meat & Meat Products.
In addition, the children received information about cultural, sporting, and leisure activities of the college students. Prospective applicants saw that studying at the ASU College is interesting and opens up excellent opportunities, and extracurricular life gives a lot of opportunities for creative, scientific and social self-fulfillment of students.
