Caspian 2022 Forum: a business game for students
"The competence centre is a project that allows students to assess their supraprofessional competences, so-called soft skills - these are skills that every person needs both in life and at work," says Ekaterina Terekhova, a specialist of the administrative support and competence development department of the ANO "Russia - Land of Opportunities".
Every student has the opportunity to take a test on the RSV website and see his or her personal profile. Once they know the results, they understand what skills they need to work on more. Within the framework of interaction with the competence centre, the student can get acquainted with employers and their requirements.
The organisers from RSV conducted a business game to get feedback from the students. The guys were given a creative task and divided into two groups. The first, "Competence Centre", creates a strategy to solve work problems for the 2030 CC and highlights the weaknesses of the 2022 CC. The second group, "Students", develops criteria for its assessment and chooses the competency that students are willing to allocate two hours of their time each week to develop.
"The winning team will be determined not by criteria, but by time, because for us time is more valuable than conditional points. It is important for the Competence Centre that a student devotes his/her time to self-development," stressed Anastasia Sadova, leading specialist of the analytics and diagnostic tools development department of ANO “Russia - the Country of Opportunities”.
After the votes were counted and the winners were determined, they received prizes and commented on the business game.
"This type of activity allowed us to get out of our comfort zone, meet new people from different faculties and develop communication skills. It was interesting to work in a team and present a project together," the participants shared.
