Submersible Poseidon Successfully Passed Tests in the Pool, Pond and the Black Sea
Participants of the Big Challenges programme at the Sirius Educational Center presented and defended a project of an underwater robot with fail-safe kinematics under the guidance of young researchers from Astrakhan Tatishchev State University.
The students worked on their idea for 24 days. During this time, they gained experience in the development, design, programming and commissioning of subsea solutions.
As the mentors say, the submersible project was one of the most technically difficult within their shift, as it included both electronic, mechanical and software parts, and the most important thing in it is working at great depths, which is quite difficult in technical terms.
The Great Challenges participants acquired an important competency — the control of underwater vehicles, which is a rather difficult task, because the operator needs to monitor the state of many elements, and exercise the highest accuracy in quite anxious situations.
