Rector of Astrakhan State University Commends Student Garden Harvest
Together with Rinat Dubin, Dean of the Faculty of Agribusiness, Technology and Veterinary Medicine, Konstantin Markelov visited the training and production site of ASU, located in the village of Nachalo, and adjusted further plans for its development.
The student garden was founded in 2017. Now different varieties of perennial fruit trees grow here — cherry, apricot, peach, apple, pear, sweet cherry, among other varieties.
The Faculty of Agribusiness, Technology and Veterinary Medicine has big plans for the development of the training site. For example, the energy of solar panels, which are located in the garden, will provide watering of plants in the future. There are also plans to create branded agricultural products and other related goods.
Visiting the garden, the rector of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University noted that students and teachers should be involved in the work at the training site — within community cleanup days, research or educational training. The main goal of the training site remains the integration of educational and production activities aimed at training qualified and competent agro-industrial specialists.
