A Startup Studio Will Appear at Astrakhan State University
Twenty universities of the country, Astrakhan Tatishchev State University, won the program implemented by the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs within the framework of the federal project “Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship”.
The application submitted by the university was defended in the format of a pitch session. The commission included representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow, key development institutions, investment and venture funds.
According to the selection results, Astrakhan Tatishchev State University entered top-20 universities that will be able to conclude investment agreements and open university start-up studios this year.
A startup studio is a “startup factory”, or, in other words, a technology entrepreneurship development format that is focused on the quick testing of business ideas and mass production of new companies. According to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, the federal project “Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship” helps universities create a system for developing the students’ entrepreneurial potential.
The head of the university expressed special gratitude to Aleksandr Zhilkin, Chairman of the ASU Board of Overseers, for supporting the project and involving business partners.
