Alexander Zhilkin Receives ASU Honorary Professor Certificate

Rector Konstantin Markelov solemnly presented the document at a meeting of the Academic Council of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University.

Alexander Zhilkin is an ex-governor of Astrakhan Region, Senior Vice President for the Caspian region of Eurasia Management LLC, Chairman of the ASU Board of Overseers. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Astrakhan State University in 1981 and never broke off his relations with the university. The portrait of Alexander Zhilkin has adorned the gallery of honorary professors of ASU this year.

On the same day, the rector of Astrakhan State University presented another award. Elvira Matveeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Organic, Inorganic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, was awarded the medal of K. D. Ushinsky.
